A major international oil company needed cleaning, preservation, and storage of spares at a warehouse in Qatar. The climate was harsh, with high fluctuating temperatures, 90% humidity, and fine blowing sand. Pipes, flanges, valves, fittings, and bolts were among the large and small parts undergoing preservation.
Rust removal was done with VpCI®-422 and VpCI®-423, followed by cleaning with VpCI®-414. VpCI®-368 was applied to outdoor parts, with VpCI®-337 used for some internal voids. Cor-Pak® Pipe Strips were inserted into pipe spools. Large diameter pipes were protected with a combination of VpCI®-609 S, EcoPouch®, and Desicorr® VpCI® Pouches. Pipe and open spare ends were capped with MilCorr® VpCI® Shrink Film. The customer was very pleased with the thoroughness of the solution and had no complaints or problems after more than a year of storage.
